Ok, yes it's happening. We've come to the end of a long and winding road, of many years, of interviewing authors and promoting literary news, reviews, kudos! and mixing it with one of the most eclectic bags of music found anywhere.
BUT - TADA!
It's time to pack this show up and head off in new directions.
Choosing a show from the library was an incredibly tough decision. OK- near bout impossible. And, I was sorely tempted to record one more new show, one last something or other, a great edited soundbite of the last eight years. But I didn't. Here's why.
There is NO WAY I could do all the authors, novels, people, readers, booksellers, publishers, preachers, a job worthy of one last time. At some point in the future perhaps I tinker with soundbites and excerpts over the years and make a new thing. I'll grab the storytelling of Clyde Edgerton and Rick Bragg, delve into the deep intelligence of Ronlyn D. (Mercy of Thin Air), laugh with Shellie Rushing Tomlinson, and give the closest thing to a kneeling nod before the Pope of Paperbacks (that just sounds good) Mr. Jack Reed, Sr. who is one of the men I respect and admire most in this world. Sir, it was my honor to visit with you over Thanksgivings past.
Maybe I'll pull out the long list of authors who shared stores on the Christmas show, or even put the whole blessed thing up for Christmas yet to come. Somewhere buried on this blog (or old websites) are all there names, years and years of names, years and years of titles, all worthy of your time and attention.
But tis time to his the dusty trail. Color this cowgirl Clearstory so good to me. But, now, Clearstory gone.
